Linear Stem Natural Made to Measure Roman Blind
Made to Measure curtains and blinds are custom made, and will typically be with you within 3 weeks from the date of purchase.
How to measure for blinds
Recess fit
Measure the width of the opening in three places — top, middle and bottom — and record the smallest of the three. Do the same for the drop, measuring on the left, in the middle and on the right, and again take the smallest.
Give us those measurements exactly as you took them. We make the deductions the blind needs to clear the sides of the recess, so please do not subtract anything yourself.
Exact fit
Measure the area you want the blind to cover. For a blind hanging outside the recess, add an overlap of 50–100mm at each side and above the opening to reduce the light that spills around the edges.
The blind is made to the size you give us, so please check your measurements before ordering.
A note on depth
A recess needs enough depth to take the headrail. If your recess is shallow, or the window opens inwards, an exact fit outside the recess is usually the better choice.
How to Measure Guides
For further information and tips please read our Measuring Guides.
Headrail information
Classic
An open headrail with the mechanism on view. The simplest and most economical option, and the shallowest, so it suits a recess with limited depth.
Cassette
The headrail is enclosed in a neat aluminium cassette that conceals the mechanism and gives a more finished look, particularly where the top of the blind is visible.
Classic No Drill
Fits into the window recess under tension, with no screws and no holes. Ideal for rented homes and uPVC frames. It can only be used with a recess fit.
Motorised
Either headrail can be supplied with a rechargeable motor in place of the chain, operated by remote control or from your phone. There is no chain, which makes it the safer choice around children and pets.
Wave track
Wave curtains need a dedicated wave track — a standard pole or track will not hold the fold. One is supplied with every wave curtain, cut to your measured width and complete with the brackets to fit it, and its price is included in the total shown.
Choose a motorised wave and the corded track is replaced by the wireless wave track.
Interlining
Interlining is a soft layer sewn between your fabric and its lining. It gives the curtain noticeably more weight and body, so it hangs in fuller folds, and it improves insulation and sound absorption.
It is the more expensive choice and produces a thicker curtain, so allow a little extra stacking space at the sides of the window.
Recess or exact fit?
Recess
The blind sits inside the window opening. Give us the measurements of the opening itself and we make the blind slightly smaller, so it clears the sides and runs freely. Do not make your own deduction.
Exact
The blind is made to the exact size you give us, normally to hang outside the recess and overlap the window. Add an overlap of 50–100mm at each side if you want to block more light.
Control type
Manual
Operated by a side chain. Choose the chain finish and which side of the window it hangs on.
Motorised
A rechargeable motor is fitted inside the headrail, operated by remote control or from your phone. No wiring is needed and there is no chain, which makes it the safer choice around children and pets.
Remote
Each channel can be set up to control an unlimited number of blinds. Set up different channels for different rooms or areas — Kitchen, Living Room, Upstairs.
Choose a side
Classic
Motorised Classic Romans do not have a pull chain, however, you can select the side to position the USB-C charging port in the most convenient spot.
Cassette
Motorised Cassette Romans come with a nickel pull chain. Select the side you would like this to be positioned.
Smart hub
A remote control operates your blinds on its own. A hub adds app control from your phone, scheduling, and voice control through your existing smart speaker.
Motion Matter Bridge
Connects your blinds to any Matter-compatible smart home system, so they can be grouped with your other devices and included in scenes.
One hub covers every motorised blind in your home — you only need to order it once.
Base cloth
Your design is printed onto one of two cloths. The cloth changes how much light the blind lets through, and how it can be cleaned.
Light Filtering
Softens and diffuses daylight while keeping the room bright. Gives privacy during the day, but shapes will still be visible from outside after dark.
Blackout
An opaque backing blocks almost all light, and helps keep the room warmer in winter and cooler in summer. The usual choice for bedrooms. A little light will always spill around the edges of the blind.
Our signature Linear Stem print in soft tone-on-tone oatmeal, with the leaf motif outlined subtly against a warm, natural stone ground – quiet and versatile.
Our made to measure roman blinds are the classic choice for a soft, tailored window dressing. Cut to your exact size and finished with neat, structured pleats, each blind brings texture and warmth to a room.

Romans above 135cm wide will have two seams. We always aim to balance the seams with a 20% / 60% / 20% panel configuration. The design is pattern matched across the joins.
-
Dry clean only, do not machine wash. The rods and cords at the back of the blind will need to be removed to dry clean a roman blind. We do not take any liability for any damage during this process.
-
To remove creases, the fabric can be steamed but make sure the steamer or iron does not touch the fabric. Place a towel in between the steamer and the fabric to ensure the curtain is not damaged.
